The most common type of dry stonewall, uchikomihagi (rough cut piling).

Thirteen structures at Osaka Castle are designated Important Cultural Assets: Ichibanyagura and Rokubanyagura (1628), the Kinzo storehouse (1751), Inuiyagura on the west outer moat and Senganyagura (1620), the Otemon, Sakuramon, Tamonyagura, Kinmeisui well and a number of sections of the castle walls around the front gate (Otemon).

The reconstructed Tenshu at Osaka Castle has eight stories, is in the independent style and has a watchtower on its uppermost story. The design of this 1931 concrete reconstruction was taken from historic screen paintings of Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s original black keep.
